Mid-West Drag Racing Series

Mid-West drivers in Action at IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals

As the summer break for the MWDRS rolls through, the stars and cars of the Mid-West Drag Racing series are staying busy with races across the nation, and this week eyes turn to the IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway in Milan, Michigan this weekend for a $125,000 payout.

Keith Goolsby, running third in MWDRS Points will make his debut at the IHRA this weekend. The Black Pearl represents the top of the MWDRS field making their appearance this weekend as the team rides their championship aspirations into a stout 37 car field. Goolsby, after making some off-season changes and a smaller modification following the spring race in Tulsa, seem to have momentum on their side coming into a big money race.

Jacob McNeal has fought gremlins all year but is in the extremely tight race for 4th in MWDRS points. McNeal has raced at every IHRA race this year and while he had a rough appearance in the first race, he had a second race that seemed to find him in the mix in terms of time and reliability. When the Barracuda is working, as evidenced by showings in Tulsa and Martin, it can go the distance with McNeal behind the wheel.

Robert Davis came off a very strong showing at the summer race at Flying H Drag Strip. The Floridian grabbed 86 points, the third most of all drivers, at the Curfew-shortened race. Davis was among the few drivers remaining when the race was called and will be looking to go rounds in Michigan.

Kallee Mills in Scarlett is coming off of a news appearance and a strong showing in her last race with the IHRA during this summer break. Mills has the car and the driving talent to win the whole thing, but an unfortunate red light left her empty handed in the semifinals against Kurt Steding. Mills sits 5th in MWDRS points, less than one round behind Jacob McNeal and a razors edge ahead of Keith Haney.

Other racers with MWDRS appearances this year making an appearance at the Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals are Mike DiDominico, Craig Sullivan, Jeff Rudolf (winner of the Shakedown at M'Town earlier this year), Robin Roberts, Kye Kelley, Ken Quartuccio, Lyle Barnett, Jackie Slone Jr, Wes Distefano, and more!

The MWDRS' next race will be in the great state of Michigan, September 5-6th at US-131 Motorsports Park.
