Forecast for Funny Car Nationals Includes Extreme Speed and Personal Bests
The Funny Car Nationals are here and the forecast calls for massive speeds and low ET's. One of the biggest stories coming into this weekend is the favorable forecast. With highs on Friday and Saturday of 63 degrees, and a saturday night low of 44, the fastest track in Michigan is set to live up to it's name. Friday humidity looks to project to around 50% on at the start of Q1 on Friday night, meaning the header flames will be lit and the engines should be feasting.
Earlier this year, it was a cool crisp night that gave us the tightest, quickest field in Pro Mod history at the Shakedown in M'Town. It also gave Robert Costa his personal best in the favorable cool air.
Last year, it was the Funny Car Nationals that saw 2024 Champion Mark Micke set a new ET record, a new speed record, and then a third run improving on both and setting a new all-time ET and MPH record in Midwest Drag Racing Series history.
After 2 record setting events, the MWDRS is excited to return to US-131 for another weekend of history making. Tickets are available at https://us131.tracksideapp.com, and streaming is available free on the MWDRS Youtube page.
