Mid-West Drag Racing Series Mid-Season Points Update
HUGE Points Shake-Up for Mid-West Drag Racing Series Championship!
The KSHE Night of Fire & Thunder was a great night of racing and entertainment at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, IL!!
The race created an interesting situation in that the points for Pro Mod and Top Dragster is not completed because of the rain. These two classes will conclude their Finals at a future race.
We have a NEW Pro Mod Class Leader with the M&M Transmission Camaro, Mr Mark Micke leads with 290 Points! Ron Muenks (Pierce Racing) is only 9 points behind with 281, with an 8 point lead over 3rd Place Keith Haney with 273 points.
Aaron Wells (216 points) and Brian Lewis (197 points) round out the Top 5.
Steve Macklyn continues to lead Top Alcohol Funny Car with 266 Points. Lance Van Hauen holds second with 198 and completing the Top Three is Mark Billington with 162 points.
Rod Moore continues his Top Sportsman domination by 113 points over Michael Chitty. Can he be caught??? Rod has earned 381 points during the 2024 season already. Mike, in Second with 268 points, has his work cut out for him after his accident in St Louis. Mike leads Third Place Mark Griffin by just 28 points.
The Top Dragster Class is the closest race of the series currently, with just 5 points separating the Top Two!! Jeremy Maples leads the class with 310 points over Jordan Eperjesi's 305 points! Jordan will run the Finals of St Louis at the Smack Down race later in Sept! Both racers will be on site at Martin, MI to do battle once again!
The Top Two in Pro 4.20 enjoy a friendly rivalry, but will it be friendly after the summer break as we head into the final swing of events?? Dave Pierce leads the class with 197 Points, over James Ogden's 179 points! That is less than a round of racing different between the two! Third place is currently Derrol Hubbard with 138 points.
The Pro Junior class also saw huge swings in position! Moving into the lead is Tyler Wells, with 235 Points! Followed by Mason Acosta, with 175 points. And a Tie for Third are the previous leaders Alexis Kesterson and Isaak Stephenson.
Sportsman Junior has Haven Moberly leading the points with 150, followed by Cayden Duell with 130 and in Third place, Presley Moberly with 110. Just a single round of eliminations separating each place!
We return to racing in Martin, MI in just 44 Days!! Until then, you can bet that the racers will be doing the math on how they can move up these point standings!!
