The
Mid-West Drag Racing Series is Looking to Build on the
Success of 2020 with Additions to Race Operations

TULSA, OKLAHOMA - (February 17, 2021) The Summit Racing
Equipment Mid-West
Drag Racing Series is pleased to announce some Race
Operations additions for 2021.
Race Operations Director Jimmy Boles will head the track
prep at all eight of our events
in 2021. This will bring consistency to the surfaces we
race on from coast to coast. In
continuing with our philosophy “For Racers, By Racers”, we
listen to our racers and they
emphasized how one single track prep person would help
them with their racing
programs.
“We learned specifically what each class needs and as we
travel to each track, now the prep will be the same,
allowing the racers to focus on making their best passes
and not having to worry about the prep,” states Boles.
In addition to consistent track prep, MWDRS has added
Technical Consultant Lonnie Grim as Tech Inspector. Lonnie
and Jimmy will continue to work together in the pre-event
tech as you arrive, while Lonnie will carry out spot
checks, fuel checks, blower pulley inspections, and other
checks throughout the event. Again, providing consistency
and safety to the MWDRS series.
“I am pleased to be able to work throughout the season
with the racers to make the series grow even more while
maintaining safety for everyone involved”, states Grim.
“We learned a lot in 2020 and are very happy to be
building on our success. Jimmy Boles is the best at making
the surface at Tulsa top-notch for the Throwdown events
and all the other events at TRP, so, it was a natural
transition for him to do the track prep at all the MWDRS
races. Having Lonnie at our races to make sure everyone is
safe and fast is very important to me”, states series
Founder Keith Haney.
“Lonnie consulted with the Series in 2020 and attended as
many events as his schedule allowed. This year, he will be
able to solidify Tech and build on the rules and things he
has worked so hard with us on”, states Haney.
The MWDRS is pleased to have its tight-knit crew back for
2021. Ellen Eschenbacher will continue Event Marketing
Director, Media, and Sales as well as go-to for series
questions. Randy Hancock will serve as the Liaison to
racers, staff, and sponsors throughout the event. Gary
Rowe continues as our website designer, as well as Kallee
Mills on Social Media and Kyle Christ as series
Videographer.
MWDRS will showcase 8 events throughout the 2021 racing
season, beginning March 19-20 at Xtreme Raceway Park in
Ferris, Texas. Throughout 2021, the series will make stops
at three new venues in Great Bend, Kansas; Belle Rose,
Louisiana; and Houston, Texas. MWDRS makes two stops in
Tulsa at the always thrilling Throwdown in T-Town at the
Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park May 7-8 and October 1-2.
All races will be streamed allowing for maximum exposure
for our MWDR series racers as well as our valuable
marketing partners.
About the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing
Series
In its fifth year in 2021, the Mid-West Drag Racing series
was founded in 2017 by Pro Mod racer Keith Haney. Keith is
also the co-owner of Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. The series was created for the racers by a racer
to fill a void in the Midwest region when it came to pro
mod and sportsman racing. The continued mission of the
MWDRS is to put on a superior family show for the fans and
racers, along with providing a great place for people to
come and race. Mid-West Drag Racing Series returns in 2021
with 7 classes: Pro Mod, Alcohol Funny Car, Top Sportsman,
Top Dragster, Pro Junior and Sportsman Junior Dragster as
well as the 2021 addition of Outlaw N/T.
